early summer: update

my shop has a new look! i’m going for something a bit darker, more refined, more stylized, hopefully evoking couture, the feeling of uniqueness, and a bit of strangeness. or, i’m just matching my banner to my photos.

also, i’ve just completed my first wholesale sale! this lovely shop, caravans, will be selling my wares in meatspace. it’s pretty exciting.

two things

  1. I am going to be selling my shark-wares at the Artists & Fleas Market here in Williamsburg on April 19th.
  2. I bought/bid on adspace on Girls with Slingshots, one of my favorite webcomics. I made two ads—one for Marx & Bear and one for bemyshark, but the one for Marx & Bear turned out  better so I went with that one. The font I always use in my banners and shit was looking really crappy, I think because the ads are so small. Since I am not a photoshop whiz, I do not know how to fix this and am stuck with wacky pixellated looking fonts. ohhh well. let’s see how this goes!

permalink new stuff is up! well—will be going up over today and tomorrow. gotta space it out to maximize that theoretical front page time! real excited about this batch. also, i finally bought those eyelets and they are going to change the way i do everything—i love them so, so so much. check out the new stuff to see how i used them. amazingly, i found eyelet pliers sitting in a drawer with my [sadly, long-neglected] belt buckle collection.

permalink first item up at my new shop!

it is slow going, but i can’t wait to expand my line of communists in improbable situations.

i’ve also really really been having a lot of fun exploring the medium of fused plastic bags more. i’ve got big plans to head over to the garment district [tomorrow?] to get some findings to finish off several pieces i’ve started.

also, someday i will need to list the awesome cat head necklace i made. i fixed the neck piece and i love it now. it’s always hunkering down and taking those pictures and getting it right that stands in my way….
